Luann Jean Larson, 43, of Newnan went home to be with her Savior on Friday, July 18, 2008 from the Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Memorial services celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Stan Martin officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Ms. Larson was born October 13, 1964 in Lake County, Illinois to Gene Hubert and Diana Mae Larson. Luann grew up in Zion, Illinois and completed her education at the Blueberry Branch of Covenant Life College near Fort St. John, British Columbia, Canada. She was a schoolteacher and had taught in the Blueberry community, at the Bowen’s Mill Christian Center School near Fitzgerald, and was currently teaching at the Grantville School near Newnan. She was a member of the New Gate Christian Church in Sharpsburg. Luann had a deep love of the Lord that she shared with everyone she met. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and the many students she taught over the last 15 years.
She is survived by her parents: Gene & Diana Larson of Fitzgerald; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Leslie & Bennett Martin “Marty” Michaelson of Kent, Washington, Linda & Paul Barrette of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Laura & Jeff Clark of Abbeville; several nieces and nephews; one great-niece; her maternal grandmother: Loretta Smith of Forest Hill, California; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family suggests those desiring to send memorials in lieu of flowers may send them to the New Gate Christian Church, the Ronald McDonald House, in Atlanta, Georgia or to the Bowen’s Mill Christian Center Youth Camp.
