Obituary

William L. Lenehan, a 47 year resident of Wakefield and formerly of Malden, died on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield after a long illness. He was 86 years old.

Bill was born in Malden on March 14, 1922. He grew up in Malden where he attended Malden Public Schools and graduated from Malden High School in 1940. He enlisted into the United States Army on January 29, 1944 and served his country during World War 2. He was dicharged on March 1, 1946 with the rank of Sergeant. Bill worked for the City of Malden for over 20 years at their Public Property Department. He was a member of the Malden Elks and Malden D.A.V. Post.

Bill is the beloved husband of 47 years to Genevieve "Jimi" (Butler) Lenehen. He is the devoted brother of James C. Lenehan of Everett, the late Doris Zagorites, Joseph "Red", Robert, Henry and Francis Lenehan. He is the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, morning July 22, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by Bill's Funeral Service at 11 a.m.
