Adrien Bissonnette 83 of Annette Ave. died Friday at home. He was the husband of Constance (Sabourin) Bissonnette. Mr. Bissonnette was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Archille and Caroline (Chamberland) Bissonnette. He was the purchasing director for RI Public Transit Authority for fifteen years retiring in 1993. Mr. Bissonnette was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a member of St. Joseph Veterans, Circle Laurier, and the DAV. He is a member Emeritis of the City Council having served for twenty five years.
Besides his wife he is survived by four sons Andre J. Bissonnette and his wife Joan, of Bridgewater, MA; Laurent C. Bissonnette and his wife Trevor, of Portsmouth, RI; Gerard P. Bissonnette of Woonsocket; and Paul J. Bissonnette, and his companion Gisele Magnuson of Cape Cod, MA; two daughters Therese L. Bissonnette and her husband Randy Ducharme of Exeter; and Rose C. Bissonnette of W. Kingtson; a brother Leo Bissonnette of Woonsocket; two sisters Jeannette St. Jean, of Blackstone, MA; and Sr. Helen Bissonnette PM of Methuen, MA; and seven grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Theresa’s Church Rathbun St. Blackstone, MA. Burial with military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-5 pm.
