AUGUSTA,GA.- Mr. Helmer E. McClendon age 64, husband of Mrs. Patsy McClendon entered into rest at Trinity Hospice on Wednesday, July 16, 2008.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in
Westview Cemetery with Chaplain Frankie May officiating.
Survivors include,his mother, Ruth McClendon of Albany, one son, Helmer McClendon III of Augusta, one daughter, Jodi Odom of Augusta, one grandson Chase Odom, one sister, Joan Luckey and her husband Jerry of Albany,GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Helmer E. McClendon Sr.
Mr. McClendon served in the U.S. Marine Corp, he was a Barber in the Augusta area for fifteen years, and a Fireman with the Augusta-Richmond County Fire Dept for many years. Mr. McClendon really adored his son Helmer and his daughter Jodi, he enjoyed spending time with them while they were growing up. He loved watching his grandson Chase play baseball, he would attend all of his All Star games and Travel Ball.
Pallbearers will be, Billy Wooten, James May, Jonathan May and Terry Van Buren.
