SALEM - Frank O. Doucette, 87, of Salem, husband of the late Ruth (Hutchinson) Doucette, died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation Center, Peabody, following a long illness.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Bruno & Annabell (O’Brien) Doucette.
A Marine Corps veteran of WWII, he served in the Asiatic Pacific Area and attained the rank of Private First Class. Mr. Doucette was a life member of the DAV and the VFW, Witch City Post #1524, Salem.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years at the Larrabee & Hingston Co., Salem.
He is survived by one daughter, Donna Cheney of Salem, a daughter-in-law, Loretta Doucette of Beverly,5 grandchildren, Kevin Cheney of Amesbury, Todd Cheney of Charleston, SC, Wendy Russo of Beverly, David Doucette of Nahant, Heddie Lang of Newton, NH, 6 great grandchildren, a step-son, Martin Morin of Albany, Oregon, a step-daughter, Candice Cassidy of E. Hampstead, NH, a dear friend, Jacob Joseph of Newburyport and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Doucette was the last of seven siblings and was also predeceased by his first wife, Anna A. (Jeffery) Doucette, his son, Richard Doucette
His funeral service will be held Monday, July 21, 2008 at 1 pm in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, A visitation will be held from Noon to 1 pm, prior to the service. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
