Williams,Edgar
91, of Louisville died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at home with his family.
He was a generous man of faith devoted to his family. Edgar was a retired paint contractor and a member of St. Edward Catholic faith community. He served with the U.S. Army in the European theatre during World War II, and was awarded 5 bronze stars.
Edgar enjoyed sports, playing softball through his 65th year. He and his wife square danced with Beulah Twirlers and KSDA for 25 years and enjoyed league bowling for many years.
Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, Josie and Robert Williams; brothers, Roy and Marion; and sisters Lucille and Corrine.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bernadine (Harris); children, Jim (Claire) Williams, Matilda (Bill) Morgan, Ray (Ann) Williams, Claudette Helvey, Elissa (Glenn) Hill; and John (Jeanne) Williams; grandchildren, Christy, Michael, Annie, Cara, Mary Beth, Jacob, Samantha, Mackenzie and Erin; and great-grandson, Brady, with a second great-grandchild due in August.
Visitation will be at Owen Funeral Home, 9318 Taylorsville Rd, Thursday, 2 to 8 p.m. and Friday 2 to 6 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 7 p.m. Friday at St. Edward, 9608 Sue Helen Dr., with Graveside Service in Calvary Cemetery Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
