James P. Genoa, 61,of Franklin, died suddenly Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at his home. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Thyne) Genoa.
Born in Milford, Jan. 6, 1947, a son of the late Dominick J. and Hazel M. (Prue) Genoa, who died last month, he was a lifelong Franklin resident.
He was a 1966 graduate of Franklin High School and a 1968 graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, where he received his degree in radiology.
Until his retirement several years ago, he worked as a radiological technologist at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and at the former Milford Hospital.
He was a lifetime communicant of St. Mary Church, and was also a member of the AARP. He was a former member of the Franklin Auxiliary Police Department and the Brothers of the Brush.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 39 years, is a son, James P. Genoa II and his wife, Kristin, of Woonsocket, R.I.; three daughters, Bernadette A. Goudreau and her husband, Troy, of Blackstone, Ann-Marie Dillman and her husband, Warren Scott of Uxbridge and Maureen E. Genoa of West Hartford, Conn.; two brothers, Robert of Upton and William of Friendswood, Texas; a sister, Katherine R. Genoa of Medway; three grandchildren, Dominick Genoa, Nicholas Goudreau and Trent Dillman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Saturday, July 19, at 9:15 a.m., from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., www.franklinfuneral.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be on Thursday July 24, at 1 PM in St. Mary's Cemetery, Franklin.
Calling hours are Friday, 4 to 7 p.m.
