NEW BEDFORD — Hazel C. Crook, 88, formerly of Alva Street in New Bedford, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Hathaway Manor after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Harvey Crook Jr.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late William C. and Minnie (Noble) Clough, she lived in this community all of her life.
A longtime member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, she was active with the VFW Auxiliary of the Freetown Post #6643 and the Travelers Club. Before retirement, she was employed as an office accountant with J. C. Rhodes Company in New Bedford.
Sister of the late Edith Howland, she is survived by nieces.
Her funeral will take place on Thursday, July 17, 2008, at 9:30 a.m., in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., NB, with friends being received within the half hour prior to her service. Burial will take place in the Veteran's National Cemetery in Bourne.
