Ethel M. (Day) Howard, 96, of Mattapoisett, died July 14, 2008 at home after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Charles Howard, Jr.
Born in Needham, the daughter of the late Charles and Annie (Brown) Day, she lived in Westwood most of her life, wintering in Amelia Island, FL and summering in Mattapoisett before moving to Mattapoisett in 1997.
She was an active member of Glad Rags in Westwood.
Survivors include a son, Charles Howard, III, and his wife Jane, of Westwood, MA; 3 daughters, Nancy Fried, and her husband Kim, of Newark, VT, Marjorie Reis, and her husband Tom, of Medfield, MA and Sandra Brooks, and her husband Bob, of Mattapoisett; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.
Her Private Graveside Service will held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Nurse and Hospice Care, P.O. Box 751, Fairhaven, MA 02719.
