WORCESTER-Evangelos Gatsios, 73, of 30 Brantwood Road, died March 15th in the Hospice Residence after an illness. He leaves his wife of 39 years, Eugenia (Kapsanis) Gatsios; a son, Konstantinos “Charlie” Gatsios of Worcester; a daughter, Marina Stratis of Pawtucket, RI; 2 sisters, Hariklia Abatzi and Anthoula Soulaie both of Albania; 5 grandchildren; a nephew, Michalis Gatsios of Worcester.
He was born in Kosovitsa,North Epiros the son of George and Alexandra (Nakou) Gatsios moving to Worcester in 1956. He worked for M.K.M. Company and Worcester Knitting Company for many years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and a member of the Order of AHEPA.
The funeral will be Wednesday, March 19th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 11:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, March 18th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
