FITCHBURG - Norman J. "Govie" Gauvin, 55, of Worcester died Sunday, March 16 in the Veterans Hospice Homestead after an illness.
He leaves three sisters Florence Arsenault of Kingston, Ontario, Canada, Doreen Gallant of Worcester and Bernice Rawlston of Rutland; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother Emery "Frenchy" Gauvin. He was born in Nova Scotia, Canada son of Aime and Bella (Gaudet) Gauvin.
Mr. Gauvin was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was a truck driver for Quality Seafoods for 17 years. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church, Worcester.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 AM on Friday March 21 in Holy Name of Jesus Church 53 Illinois Street. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Jeremiah's Inn, 1059 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603.
