Cecile (Masse) Smith, 90, of Manchester, died September 26, 2001, at Ridgewood Center-Genesis Eldercare in Bedford, after a brief illness.
Born in Manchester, May 10, 1911, she was the daughter of John B. and Mary Louise (Grenier) Masse. She was a lifelong resident of this city.
A retired shoe worker, she had worked for Dorson Fleisher Shoe Co. for several years.
She had been very active with the Alpine Club. In 1959 she was the Queen of the Alpine Snowshoe Club.
She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, and knitting.
Her husband, Leo A. Smith, predeceased her in 1977.
Family members include several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial was be celebrated Saturday, September 29th in St. Pius X Church, Candia Rd., Manchester. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
