Teresa K. McGowan, 89 of Plainville, Connecticut died July 13 in the New Britain General Hospital.
Born in Medway, January 11, 1919, the daughter of the late Patrick and Josephine (Creed) McGowan, Miss McGowan was raised in Medway and had lived there until moving to Connecticut in 1974.
She was a 1937 graduate of Medway High School.
Miss McGowan had been a dental assistant for Dr. Murdock Sampson in Medway for over thirty years.
After she moved to Connecticut, she worked as an aide at several nursing homes.
Miss McGowan was the sister of the late John, William, Thomas and Francis McGowan, Josephine Huntley and Margaret Thibeau.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and several cousins.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, July 17 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.
