Boston – Marion L. (Cannon) Couture, 83, of Lakeville died after a brief illness July 12, 2008 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital. She was the wife of Lucien R. J. Couture.
Mrs. Couture was born in Haverhill, MA, daughter of the late Charles E. and Jeannie (Watt) Cannon, and resided in Lakeville for the past 33 years. She was a member of the Mullein Hill Baptist Church. She was employed as an executive secretary for Albert Loranger, Loranger Construction Corp. and later as an office manager by Deloid & Gomes and Deloid Associates until her retirement. She also worked as a part-time sales clerk at several Cumberland Farms. She served as an Associate Chaplain for Community Chaplain Services at several nursing homes in Middleboro, Fairhaven and New Bedford.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 3 daughters: Phylis Ferreira of Arizona, Rebecca Arden of North Carolina and Lynda Laprade and her husband John of Massachusetts; 16 grandchildren: Lucien Couture II, Lisa Beth Lee, Kristy Couture, Jeannie Nelson, David Isabelle, Calan Souza, Richard Christensen, Christine Travers, Eric Christensen, Aaron Christensen, Daniel Ferreira, Justin Ferreira, Felicia Ferreira, Corina Geiger, John Laprade and Joshua Laprade; 10 great-grandchildren: Taylor Dixon, Kelsey Nelson, Raymond Nelson, Alexis Couture, Marrisa Couture, Christopher Travers, Cassandra Travers, Matthew Travers, Amber Winterbottom and Abigail Geiger; a great great-grandson: Damien Travers; and several nieces & nephews.
She was mother of the late Daniel Ferreira.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday, July 20, 2008 at 4 P.M. at the Mullein Hill Baptist Church, 111 Highland Road, Lakeville.
