WORCESTER____John K. “Jackie” Bain, 69, of Worcester died Saturday July 12 in Marlborough Hills Healthcare, Marlborough after a struggle with colon cancer. His wife, Diane M. (D’Andrea) Bain died Dec. 1, 2005.
He leaves a daughter, Cheryl L. Marrero with whom he resided, three sons, John K. Bain and his wife Sheryl of Templeton; David A. Bain of Vero Beach, FL., and Jeffrey S. Bain and his wife Lissette of Worcester; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was born in Worcester, a son of John K. and Julia D. (Dulskis) Bain. He also leaves two sisters, Dianne Flaminio of Worcester and Geraldine Sykes and her husband Frederick of East Dennis; and a brother, Daniel Bain of Worcester. Another brother, Thomas Bain died in 2002.
Mr. Bain retired from the Worcester County Jail & House of Correction. He was also a chief draftsman 23 years for the Geo. J. Meyer Mfg. Co. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served 7 years with the Strategic Air Command. He was a member and past commander of the Worcester Veterans Council, Southworks Post VFW, Grafton Hill Post American Legion and the Lithuanian War Veterans Organization. He also belonged to DAV Chapter 4, Voiture 1113, 40 & 8 was an associate of the Marine Corp League, the Association of Retired State, County and Municipal Employees and the AARP. The funeral will be held on Wednesday July 16 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday July 15 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
