Obituary

Simonne A. MacNeil, 80, of Eagle Peak Rd., Pascoag, formerly of Prospect St., Manville, died Thursday at the Overlook Home in Pascoag. She was the wife of Thomas M. MacNeil, to whom she was married on April 11, 1953.
Born in Manville, she was a daughter of the late Edmond and Lyda (Desrosiers) Poirier. She was a resident of Manville for most of her life until moving to Pascoag three years ago.
Mrs. MacNeil worked at the Manville Pharmacy for many years before retiring. She was a communicant of St. James Church, and life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of DAV.
Simonne enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a very hands-on lady and often immersed herself in projects around the home with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael G. MacNeil, and his wife Christine, of Millville, a daughter, Linda M. Haczynski, and her husband John, of Woonsocket, four grandchildren, Jeffrey Haczynski, Lauren Grier, Joshua MacNeil, and Shannon Dean, and a great-grandson, Connor Grier. She was the sister of Roger Poirier, of Woonsocket, and the late Rene, Armand, Albert, and Clement Poirier. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Monday at 9:00 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 71 Central St., Manville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St. Manville.
