Katherine C. (Curran) Buckley, 88, of Dartmouth died Friday July 11, 2008 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Arthur F. Buckley, M.D.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Matthew J. and Catherine (McLoughlin) Curran, she lived in Dartmouth for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
Mrs. Buckley was a graduate of Holy Family High School and Regis College. She was a member of the Catholic Women's Club, the Women's Luncheon Club, the Garden Club of America, and Garden Club of Buzzards Bay. She had been a member of the Board of Directors of the New Bedford Day Nursery. She was an avid supporter of the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and Boston College Athletics.
Survivors include three children, Arthur F. Buckley Jr., Louise B. Mitchell, and John C. Buckley, all of Dartmouth; three grandchildren, Alexander Buckley, Vanessa Buckley, and John Mitchell; and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late John D. Curran, Matthew J. Curran Jr., and Mary R. Kelleher.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
