Kathleen Bridget Meacham, 85, Clarksville, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Golden Living Nursing Home, Springfield, TN. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Eric Fowlkes officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. A Rosary will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born October 4, 1922 in Broadstairs, England, daughter of the late Charles Edward King and Mary Smyth King. She was a retired registered nurse and was the director of nurses in Montgomery, Houston, Cheatham, and Stewart County Health Departments. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Eucharistic Minister, member of the Child Abuse Board, Parish Counsel of Catholic Women, RCIA,and an active member of Legion of Mary. She received the Life Long Achievement Award in Who's Who in Nursing Homes. She worked hand in hand with Dr. Fleming in the discovery of Penicillin in England. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dolphin Meacham; sons, James Edward Meacham (Betsy) and Michael Kevin Meacham; brothers, Dr. Teddy King, and Jimmy King; and a sister Molly Rosie. Survivors include four daughters, Jennifer Sturgill(Bill) and Monica Wilson(Donny) both of Clarksville; Mary Kay Park (Roger), Alabaster, AL; and Margaret Nelson, Purvis, MS; a brother, Dr. Anthony King,England; three grandchildren, Chad Wilson (Pauline), Will Sturgill, and Britney Bagwell; and three great-grandchildren, Zoey Wilson, Miguel Wilson, and Andrea Wilson. Pallbearers will be Lynn Lamb, Steve Boyd, Chad Wilson, Charles Scheib, Charles Mosley, Charles Dean, Courtney Ludenburg, and Dr. Ramono Aquino. Honorary pallbearers will be The Knights of Columbus.
