Theresa M. (Harrington) Gallagher, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Wednesday July 9, 2008 at The Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading following a lengthy illness. She was 83 years old.
Theresa was born in Boston and grew up in Charlestown, where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1943. Theresa was a homemaker most of her life, dedicating herself to her children.
Theresa is the devoted mother of Robert P. Gallagher of Wakefield, James J. Gallagher of Jacksonville, Florida, Joseph T. Gallagher of Raliegh, North Carolina and Dolly Pacheco of Malden. She is the loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is the devoted sister of James "Hank" Harrington and the late Mary Noonan, Jeremiah Harrington, John Harrington, Catherine Gilgunn, Gertrude LaRocque, Margaret and Peter Harrington. She is also the dear friend of Theresa Juliano.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday morning July 12, 2008 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Cremation will take place following the funeral mass.
