Gerald S. ”Jerry” Swiniarski, 68, of Londonderry, NH, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008 in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA. Mr. Swiniarski was born in Salem, MA on February 1, 1940, a son of the late William and Ethel F. (Clinch) Swiniarski. He was a resident of Londonderry for the past two years, formerly living in Wilmington, MA. While living in Wilmington he was a member of the American Legion, having served in the U.S. Army, as well as a member of the Shriner’s. Mr. Swiniarski was also a member of the Pelham, NH Fish and Game Club, the NRA and the Woburn Sportsman’s Association, Bedford, MA. He served with the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Dept. as a reserve deputy. He had also worked as a machinist in the aerospace industry and as a school bus driver for the Londonderry school system.
He is survived by his wife of nine years, Inez (Murray) Swiniarski of Londonderry, 12 Children, Joseph Murray, Jr. of Tewksbury, MA, Dr. John S. Murray of Bethesda, MD, Edward Murray and his wife Kathy of Derry, NH, Kathleen Larson and her husband Fred of Derry, Dennis Murray and his wife Carrie of Midlothian, VA, Lorraine Stevens and her husband Richard of Gilmanton, NH, Teresa Ferraro and her husband Joseph of Londonderry, Brian Murray and his wife Christine of Derry, Kevin Murray of Lowell, MA, Jennifer Murray of Manchester, NH, Timothy Swiniarski of Salem, MA and Nina Simone and her husband John of Peabody, MA, his mother in law, Ida Soares of Burlington, MA, 14 grandchildren, a sister, Mary Zito of Canada, a brother, Edward Clinch of Bloomington, IN and also by nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel Murray and a brother, Thomas Swiniarski.
Visiting hours were held from 11:00am to 1:00pm Friday, July 11, 2008 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. The funeral followed at 1:00pm in the funeral home. Burial was in the Pillsbury Cemetery, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of NH, 20 Warren Street, Suite 4, Concord, NH 03301.
