Pietrina (DeMaio) Burgio, of Newton Centre died at her home after a long illness on July 7, 2008. She was 87.
A lifelong Newton resident she graduated from Newton High school. She worked for many years for Arthur D. Little Co. and later as a secretary at Newton South High and then in the School Superintendant’s office. She was a member of the Guild of the St. Francis at Sacred Heart Church and the Italian Womens Benevolent Society in Thompsonville.
Wife of the late Joseph S. Burgio she is survived by her sons of Joseph S. Burgio of Somerville, Peter G. Burgio of Conroe TX and John R. Burgio of Newton Centre. She was the sister of the late Caroline Tagliente, Louise Tagliente and Anthony DeMaio.
Relatives and friends will gather at the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. NEWTON CORNER on Fri July 11 at 9 AM and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, Newton Centre at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be in the funeral home on Thurs from 4-7 PM.
