George Anthony Lijewski, 75, of Summerville, husband of Elizabeth Alice Gelina Lijewski died Monday, July 7, 2008 at Trident Medical Center.
Funeral mass will be held Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 12 o’clock at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church. Rite of Committal with Final Commendation will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, North Charleston. Friends may call at the church from 6 until 8 o’clock Friday evening. Rosary and prayer vigil to begin at 6 o’clock.

Mr. Lijewski was born November 10, 1932 in Monitor, Michigan, son of the late Anthony A. Lijewski and Alice Venner Lijewski. He was a graduate of Handy High School, Bay City, Michigan. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard for 32 years as a general foreman. He was an extraordinary Eucharist minister. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was avid outdoorsman. His faith was strong, he loved his church.
