Obituary

AUBURN___Alexander W. Pawlina, of Auburn, died Friday July 4th after a long and courageous battle with cardiac disease.

He leaves his wife of 64 years, Olga (Hryniok) Pawlina, a daughter, Patricia Pawlina, his granddaughter, Rachel B. Pawlina of whom he was so proud, and his son Alexander V. Pawlina and his wife Deb. He also leaves his sister, Natalie Rudzinski, sister-in-law, Rita Pawlina and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Alexander and Susanna (Kassa) Pawlina. His brothers, Stephen and Albert Pawlina pre-deceased him.

Mr. Pawlina graduted from the electricians program at the former Trade School in Worcester and from the Navy Electrical School in Detroit, MI. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific and Panama.

He retired from the former Thompson Wire Co. in Worcester after 33 years serving as a Master Mechanic and Master Electrican. He was active in his local union and was a member of the White Eagle Club, P.N.I. Club, V.F.W., American Legion and the Auburn Elks. As a young man, he was a track team member of the Polish Falcons in Worcester.

Abiding by his wishes there are no calling hours. The funeral will be held on Friday July 11 with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Church, 40 Temple St, Worcester. Following cremation, burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester is directing funeral arrangements.
