WEBSTER - Lorraine C. (Cazeault) Szamocki passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 8. Her husband of 47 years, former Webster Chief of Police Anthony W. Szamocki, died in 1993.
She leaves a caring friend and companion, Joseph Sokolowski; three sons, Norman of Montgomery, PA, Michael of Webster and John of Thompson, CT; a daughter, Donna Jarominski of Dudley; six grandchildren, David, Brian and Megan Jarominski and Victoria, Julie and Emily Szamocki; four great grandchildren, Devin, Brady and Abby Wells and Logan Paranto; a sister, Jeannette Morang of North Oxford; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra (Szamocki) Strzelewicz and by her sister Annette Kozlowski.
She was born in Webster on November 21, 1924, a daughter of the late Albert and Theresa (Phoenix) Cazeault. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1942.
Lorraine worked as a clerk-typist and receptionist at the Dudley District Court for many years before she retired.
She was a member of Saint Louis Church and a member and past treasurer of the Saint Louis League of Catholic Women. She was also actively involved in the Webster Senior Center, where she was a former member of the Silver Dippers. She was a league bowler for many years. She enjoyed watching birds in her garden, travelling and reading.
The funeral will be held Friday, July 11, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake St. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace.
