Obituary

SHREWSBURY___Clemens M. Linga, 89, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Worcester, died Monday July 7, 2008 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center. His wife of 60 years, Mary E. (Lapinski) Linga died Dec. 3, 2007.

He leaves three sisters, Mary A. Linga, Phyllis Recko and her daughter, Patricia Smith and Viola Misiuk and her daughter, Carol Fedyk all of Worcester; his adopted family, Agnes, David, Monique, David Jr., and Alicia Lamoureux of Rutland. He was predeceased by his son, Attorney Clemens M. Linga, Jr. who died in 1981. He was born in Worcester, a son of Maceij and Malwina (Balcewicz) Linga and was raised in Poland and returned to Worcester when he was 19. He has lived in Shrewsbury for 52 years.

Mr. Linga was a cable maker 32 years for U.S. Steel Corp. and retired in 1978. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served as a Corporal in Tunisia, Sicily, Naples, Rome, the Rhineland and Southern France.

Clemens was educated in Poland. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Worcester.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday July 9 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday July 9 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
