Obituary

Amelia C. “Cookie” Burgess of Plymouth formerly of Cambridge passed away at home in Plymouth at the age of 75. She was the beloved wife of the late Earl C. Burgess and is survived by her beloved children Susan Hurley, Earlene Whitehead, Cynthia Zaniboni and Earl C. Burgess Jr. all of Plymouth. She also leaves her brother Ralph D’Orlando Jr., her sister Irene Vermillion both of Cambridge, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Sister of the late Ann Maron. Amelia was the daughter of the late Ralph D'Orlando and the late Mildred (Cusake) D'Orlando, born and raised in Cambridge, she was a member of the American Legion and was dedicated to her family. A funeral will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St, (Rt. 3A), N. Plymouth on Thursday, July 10th at 11 AM followed by burial at the Mass. National Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 9th from 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society – Plymouth Unit, 1115 W. Chestnut St, Brockton, MA 02301 or to the Cranberry Area Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Cr. Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
