Obituary

Walter Lamar Moore, age 67, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born November 28, 1940 in Grenada County to the late Troy Green and Mattie Lou Trusty Moore. He retired from Heatcraft in Grenada, MS after 39 years of service as a machinist. Lamar served in the United States Navy and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coffeeville, MS.

A visitation will be held Sunday, July 6, 2008 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Coffeeville, MS. The service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Coffeeville, MS at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2008 with Bro. Truman Scarbrough and Bro. Bryan Bailey officiating. The committal service will follow at the Coffeeville Cemetery in with Paul Martin, Scott Martin, Channing Martin, Trae McGregor, Larry Stephens, and “Boots” Dunn serving as pallbearers. The honorary pallbearers are Paul Dennis, Glenn Johnson, William McCullar, Billy Johnson, Rodger Kendall, and Connie Stephen. Seven Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lamar was preceded in death by a sister, Elanor Faye Kendall; and brother, Harry Moore. He is survived by his wife, Edna Shirley McGregor Moore of Coffeeville, MS; three sons, Tony Lynn Moore of Brandon, MS, Michael Dean Moore and wife, Jennifer, of Coffeeville, MS and Kenneth James Moore and wife, Jeri, of Carrollton, MS; a sister, Sarah Martin and husband, Jake, of Coffeeville, MS; a brother, Bobby Moore and wife, Shirley, of Water Valley, MS; and five grandchildren, Shelby, Cammie, Evey, Nathan, and Stewart.
