William H. Smith, 93, of New Bedford died July 5, 2008 at The Oaks Nursing Home after a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late Aurella R. (Bessette) Smith.
Born in Pittsfield, NH, the son of the late Walter D. and Nettie (Corning) Smith, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Smith was formerly employed by several local textile mills for many years until retiring from Berkshire-Hathaway.
He was a handyman.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Nettie Costa and her husband Arthur of Titusville, FL, Nellie Grajales and her husband Ignacio of East Freetown and Arlene Cote of Canada; his son-in-law Ronald Cote of Fall River; his sister-in-law Albertha Hills of Springfield; 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Jacqueline Masters.
His funeral services were private.
