Obituary:
Taunton; Madeline Sherman, a life long resident of Taunton died on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at the Taunton Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was 90 years of age.
She was the daughter of the late Arthur Bowman Sherman and Jessie M. (Woodward) Sherman. Madeline was a resident of the Taunton Nursing Home since 1966. She was a member of the Baptist Church of All Nations in Taunton. She was also very active in the WISE program.
Madeline leaves behind, her long time friend Virginia Bryan of Taunton. Mrs. Bryan’s family treated her like one of their own. She also leaves many friends at the Taunton Nursing Home, the WISE program and the Church of All Nations. Madeline was also a long time companion of Earl Yates of Taunton. She was the sister of the late Robert, Emmett, Carlton, and Arthur T. Sherman. She also leaves one sister, Eleanor Sherman of Springfield, Ma.
Madeline’s funeral will be held on Monday July 7th at 11:30 AM. at the Taunton Funeral Home, 8 Crapo Street, off Tremont Street. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
Visiting hours will be on Monday from 10:30-11:30 AM. Burial will be at Mayflower Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Taunton Nursing Home Activities Fund, 350 Norton Ave. Taunton.
