Shrewsbury—Einar V. Lavner, 78, died suddenly Tuesday, July 1, 2008. His wife of 49 years, Elaine N. (Smith) Lavner, died in 2000. He leaves 2 sons and a daughter, Robert E. Lavner, John W. Lavner, and Gail A. Maloney, all of Shrewsbury; 9 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Donna E. Robinson, in 2003. Einar was born in the Bronx, New York, son of Anna E. (Ahlbum) and Helge V. Lavner. He was a Korean War veteran, a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Vasa Order of America Quinsigamond Lodge #517, and Guiding Light Lodge AF&AM. He was a draftsman at Norton Co.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 6, from 4-6 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester. A funeral service will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel Monday July 7, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be Tuesday, July 8, in National Cemetery, Bourne.
