Loving grandfather of Jenna, Ryan and Alia Welsh and Maria Venturelli. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dear friend of the late Nora Ennis.

In 1971 Fran received Boston’s John Fitzgerald Medal for Most Meritorious Act and the nationally prestigious Benjamin Franklin Award as a result of his heroic actions when he made his way with great difficulty through smoke and intense heat to locate 2 people on the 2nd floor of a burning building. Late member Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 14 Watertown.
