Jaime G. DaRosa, 77, of New Bedford, died December 25, 2001 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital .
He was the husband of Maria J. (Lemos) DaRosa,and son of the late Antonio and Maria DaRosa.
Mr. DaRosa was born in Faial, Azores, Portugal, he lived in Pico, Azores before moving to New Bedford in 1975.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Mr. DaRosa was formerly employed as a machine operator at Columbia Electronics until his retirement. He had also been a self-employed carpenter while living in the Azores.
He was a member of the Holy Ghost Society of Pico.
Survivors include his wife; 4 sons, Jose DaRosa of Fairhaven, Carlos DaRosa of New Bedford, Jaime DaRosa of Mansfield, and Rui DaRosa of Orlando, FL; 3 daughters, Ilda Amaral of North Dartmouth, Fatima Rapoza of New Bedford, and Noelia DaRosa of Provincetown; 2 brothers, Jose Silva of New Bedford and Eduino DaRosa of Faial; 4 sisters, Rosa Rua and Irmilinda Rodrigues, both of Lisbon, Portugal; Argentina Teixeira of California and Maria Alice Silva of Canada; 15 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Maria Silva.
