Jeanette M. "Jean" Lambert
..retired from Wang; in her 80th year
TEWKSBURY - Jeanette M. "Jean" (Sheppard) Lambert, died peacefully at her Tewksbury home Monday evening, June 30, with her family at her side. She was in her 80th year.
She was born in Boston, October 17, 1928, a daughter of the late Albert and Beatrice (Mercer) Sheppard, and was raised in the Allston-Brighton sections of Boston. Upon Graduation from Brighton High School, she married Alfred R. Lambert, who was serving in the Coast Guard. He would reenlist into the U.S.A.F. during the Korean War. They raised their family in various states across the country, during his enlistment. Upon discharge in 1962, she and her husband settled on South Street in Tewksbury, where she remained until retirement and the death of her beloved husband "Ron." She then moved to East Street where she lived in an apartment in her son's house until her retirement. She retired to her home in Cotuit on Cape Cod, but returned to Tewksbury in her later years to be near her children and extended family. She was considered by many as an "Honorary Grandmother" and well known in the community as either "Nana Lambert" or "Auntie Jean."
While raising her family, she worked as a financial analyst for Wang. Upon retirement, she worked at MITRE in Bedford, Market Basket at Oakdale Plaza, and most recently as receptionist at Dance Infusion in Andover.
She was a former communicant of St. Dorothy's Church in Wilmington, and most recently a member of St. William's Parish in Tewksbury.
In her recent years, she was frequent visitor to the Tewksbury Senior Center, a member of the Tewksbury Red Hatters, and was fondly recalled by her children as a "friend to everyone she met."
She is survived by three children, Joanne and her husband David Lafreniere, Ronald and his wife Carol (Lafreniere) Lambert, and Robert and his wife Annette (St. Gelais) Lambert all of Tewksbury; five grandchildren, April (Lambert) Liles of Ocala, Tim Lambert, Janelle and Zachery Lambert all of Tewksbury, Adam Lafreniere of Lowell; one great granddaughter, Savannah Marie Liles; one sister, Tina Bryant and her husband Chester of Rochester, NH; one sister-in-law, Janice (Lambert) Morse and her husband George of Wilmington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Millie Hart, and Bill Patterson.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, July 7, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial followed at Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the MGH Leukemia Research Fund, Dr. E. Hochberg, c/o Development 165 Cambridge St., Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114, will be appreciated.
