Obituary

Irvena G. (Raymond) Sullivan 98 years young of Berkley died Saturday at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Sullivan. Mrs. Sullivan was born in Whitman and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Wilmouth and Elizabeth (DeCoste) Raymond. She lived in Brockton for most of her life before moving to Berkley 18 years ago to make her home with her daughter Brenda Springer and husband Tom and granddaughter Sarah. Mrs. Sullivan was a homemaker who loved to entertain and spend time with her family and friends. She was also an avid Red Sox fan. She was a beautiful person living everyday to the fullest. Vena was loved and admired by all her family, friends and everyone who knew her and will be deeply missed.

In addition to her daughter Brenda, she was the mother of Rhoda E. Brady of Brockton, Shirley M. DeSisto of Attleboro, Margaret E. Adams of West Yarmouth, Joseph L. Sullivan and his wife Mary of Dennis and the late Henry E. Donahue. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, two nieces, one nephew and her beloved pets Trixie, Brady & Rajah.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday 4-7 pm in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, with a Prayer Service at 6:30pm. A memorial mass will be held at St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church at a later date with interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Donations in Vena’s name may be made to Taunton Municipal Animal Shelter 821 W. Water St., Taunton, MA 02780 or Patients Activity Fund c/o Life Care Center of West Bridgewater.
