WORCESTER____Henryk J. Szydlik, 79, of 180 Perry Ave, died Monday June 30, 2008 in his home.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Zofia (Grzyb) Szydlik, two sons, Tadeusz Szydlik of Sutton and Marian Szydlik of Florida; a daughter, Anna Gaska of Sutton; a daughter-in-law, Jadwiga W. Szydlik of Worcester; two brothers, Kazimiesz Szydlik of Worcester; Jan Stomski of Sutton; two sisters, Helena Kaminska and Halina Wasiewicz both of Worcester; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. A son, Stanislaw W. “Stanley” Szydlik died in 2003. He was born in Poland, a son of Franciszek and Zofia (Parzych) Szydlik and has lived here 43 years.
Mr. Szydlik was a mechanic 18 years for Wachusett Wire Co., and retired in 1993. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday July 2, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday July 1 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
