SALEM - M. Carolyn Lipsett, 80, of Salem, died unexpectedly at her residence on Friday, June 27, 2008. She was a longtime active member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Salem.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Bruce & Marion (Worth) Lipsett. When Carolyn was 3, her family moved back to Nova Scotia, where she lived until returning to the U.S. at the age of 21. She has been a resident of Salem for most of her life.
Prior to her retirement in 1991, she was first employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield in Boston for 27 years, then by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 5 years.
Carolyn was an active member of both the former Lafayette Street United Methodist Church and the Wesley United Methodist Church, where she has served the churches in many capacities. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Tontoquon Chapter #100, of Wakefield and the AARP, Salem Chapter #2454.
She is survived by many cousins in the local area as well as in Nova Scotia.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 11 am at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. A visitation will be held from at 10 to 11 am, prior to the service. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
