Brandon R. Smith, 17, of Woonsocket, died suddenly Wednesday evening at Landmark Medical Center.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of Bruce A. Smith, of Woonsocket, and Patricia L. (Savaria) Tsouvalos, and her husband William, of Woonsocket. Brandon was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket.
He attended Woonsocket schools and the Beacon Charter School. He recently began working in construction.
As a youth Brandon was involved with Bernon Little League and received the MVP award several times. He was a staunch fan of the Patriots and Red Sox.
Brandon enjoyed music, riding his bicycle, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted brother and was known as a kind and helpful neighbor.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Alex R. Tsouvalos, two sisters, Ashley L. Smith, and Brianna A. Tsouvalos, all of Woonsocket, his maternal grandparents, Joyce Savaria, of Woonsocket, and Raymond Savaria, and his wife Diane, of CT, his paternal grandmother, Barbara Houle, of Narragansett, his step-grandfather, Alex Tsouvalos, of Worcester, a great-grandmother, Margaret Darling, of VA., and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Robert Smith, Normand Houle, Agnes Tsouvalos, and Constance Savaria.
Funeral services and burial are private. Visiting hours are omitted. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St. Boston, MA. 02114.
