Leslie A. (Boudreau) McCahey, of Greenville, passed away peacefully, June 27, 2008, two days after her 60th birthday, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Richard J. McCahey for 32 years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Florence M. (Cifelli) Boudreau of North Providence and the late Arthur E. Boudreau. She was a resident of Greenville for many years, previously living in North Providence.
Leslie was a graduate of North Providence High School, class of 1966. Leslie worked for the State of Rhode Island in various capacities for 25 years before retiring as a Social Worker in 1990. She worked in several Northern RI school systems, and this was a job she truly loved. Leslie also provided child care to several families and kept in contact with them up to the present. Leslie loved working and being with children. She was born to be a teacher. She also loved to read, go to the beach and travel. She especially enjoyed her time with her close friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was the loving mother to two daughters: Stacey M. Leitz and her husband Edward of Richmond, and Allison J. McCahey of Greenville. She was the sister of Kenneth A. Boudreau of North Kingstown, Glenn F. Boudreau of Royse City, Texas and Shirley A. Rigman of Johnston. She leaves behind a large extended family.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:30 am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours will be held Monday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860 will be appreciated.
