Charles E. Doucette, age 80 of Somerset most of his life. Passed away in Fall River June 26, 2008. Husband of Janice A. (Medeiros) Doucette & the late Julia (Johnson) Doucette. Born in Taunton, son of the late Edward P. and Eleanor (Hawkins) Doucette. Before retiring, he was a Cable Splicer for Verizon. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Doucette was a member of St. John of God Church & the Somerset Historical Society for over 40 years, where he was a past Treasurer & Assistant Curator Emeritus . He was also a member of Moe’s Raiders Retiree Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 Children: John and his wife Jacqueline Doucette of Somerset & Susan and her husband Ronald Pontecore of IL. 3 Step-Children: Michael and his wife Michelle Murphy of Somerset, Colleen E. and her husband Eric Peterson of E. Longmeadow, Beth A. and her husband John Downey of Quincy. 1 Sister: Grace and her husband Arthur Bienvenue of Sarasota, FL. 3 Grandchildren: David Doucette, Laura & Christopher Pontecore. 7 Step-Grandchildren: Luke and his wife Shaye Brisson, Jens, Joshua, and Benjamin Peterson, Zachary, Nicholas, and Erin Murphy, and Sean Downey. l Great Granddaughter: Lilly Brisson. Several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Marion Rogers and Dorothy Holland.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Monday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a funeral mass in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave. at 9:00 A.M. Interment in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours Sunday 3-6 P.M.
