Mary `Bernice` Carter Peacher, 87, Clarksville, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Sterling House of Clarksville. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Rev. Mike Madewell officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from noon until the hour of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born December 3, 1920 in Nashville, TN daughter of the late John Wesley Carter and Amanda Belle Crouch Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Peacher and a brother, John Westley Carter, Jr.. She was a retired supervisor of Acme Boot Co. She was a member of Little Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Lee Ketner, Clarksville; and Julia Lyman, Nashville; a brother, James Henry Carter, Clarksville; a sister, Margaret Elizabeth Grant, Clarksville; four grandchildren, Talin Johnson, Auri Farmer, Danielle Ketner, and Erica Ketner; four great-grandchildren, Eric Ketner, Daniel Ketner, Raven Ketner, and Annique Johnson. Pallbearers will be Larry Carter, Billy Cook, Ronnie Boyd, Johnny Grant, Jodi Rushing, and Steve McCord. Honorary pallbearers will be Winfred Powell, Jimmy Slate, Don Clark, and John Evans.
