Coots, of Brockton, March 11, 2003, Everett R. Coots, Jr. 83 years. Husband of Mildred E. (Burke) Coots. Father of Richard J. Coots, Thomas F. Coots and Robert D. Coots. Brother of Lucille Petrone.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Margaret Church at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm.

Obituary Information

Mr. Coots died Tuesday at the Brockton Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Brockton he was the son of Everett and Gertrude (Bernard) Coots, Sr. He was educated in Brockton schools and had been lifelong resident. After High School he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps for two years. He was employed by C.P. Burrill Trucking Company before serving in the US Army during WWII. Following the war he returned to C.P. Burrill and worked for the company for 25 years retiring in 1970. While his sons were young, he was involved with coaching Pop Warner Football in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. He was a member of Teamsters Local 653, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. For the past 25 years he and his wife wintered in St. Petersburg, FL.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mildred E. (Burke) Coots, 3 sons Richard J. Coots of Melrose, Thomas F. Coots of West Bridgewater and Robert D. Coots of Marlborough, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, one sister Lucille Petrone of Brockton and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Harold Coots
