Dolly (Prendable) White, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Tuesday June 24, 2008 at Glen Ridge Nursing Home in Medford following a lengthy illness. She was 77 years old.
Dolly was born in Boston on January 2, 1931. She grew up in Charlestown, where she attended Boston Public Schools. She worked in the cafateria at the Boston Naval Shipyard in Charlestown from 1948 to 1969. Dolly also worked at Malden Catholic High School in Malden from 1995 to 2005 in thier janitorial department.
Dolly is the beloved wife of the late Edwin J. White. She is the devoted mother of Patricia LaPointe and her husband Richard of Everett, Edwin White and his wife June of South Carolina, Marjorie Newhook and her husband George of Georgetown and James White and his wife Kerry of Florida. She is the loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of John Potter of Rhode Island and the late Margaret Curley and Edward Potter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday morning from 9 a.m. to 12 noon followed by Dolly's Funeral Service at 12 noon in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
