METHUEN – Roland P. Schelling 76 died Monday June 23, 2008 at Caritas Holy Family Hospital.
Born in Methuen, he was the son of the late Maurice and Marie (Bougie) Schelling. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. During the Korean Conflict he served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. For more than 30 years he was employed with the Raytheon Company in Andover, MA.
He was an active parishioner and Eucharistic minister of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish/St. Theresa’s Church in Methuen. He was a bowler with the Senior Bowling League at Park Lanes in Windham, NH. He was also in the Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corp. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Simone T. (Michaud) Schelling of Methuen.
Children Dennis R. Schelling and his wife Catherine of Derry, NH, Kenneth D. Schelling and his wife Kathleen of Lanesboro, MA, Lynne M. Shay of North Andover, MA, Brenda L. Biggs and her husband Joseph of Westminster, MA.

2 brothers Edmond Schelling and his wife Marguerite of Cape Coral, FL and Donald Schelling and his wife Evelyn of Methuen, MA.
8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish/St. Theresa’s Church in Methuen with burial to follow in the Elmwood Cemetery also in Methuen, MA.
