Worcester-Regina B. (Markiewicz) Dirsa, 79, of 59 Evelyn Street, died Saturday, March 9, in The Meadows of Leicester.
Her husband of thirty-seven years, Vincent J. Dirsa died in 1978. She leaves a brother, Ronald G. Markiewicz of Worcester; three sisters, Dorothy L. Friedgen and Phyllis B. Wielgoreski, both of Grafton, and Lorraine T. Gancarz of Worcester; ten nieces and nephews. A brother Richard Markiewicz of Grafton died in 2001.
Mrs. Dirsa was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph and Stella (Kulesza) Markiewicz, and lived here all of her life. She was educated in Worcester schools and later worked as a Bookkeeper for L.N. Sherry Company for many years before retiring.
Mrs. Dirsa was a longtime member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish. She enjoyed spending time on the seashore.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, March 12, from Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward Street (www.worcesterfuneral.com), with a Mass at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8pm Tuesday, March 11, in the funeral home.
