Albert K. Bowers Sr. of Norwood, formerly of Roslindale died on Tuesday June 24th at Harrington House in Walpole. He was 94 years old. Mr. Bowers was a member of the Massachusetts National Guard, 26th Yankee Division, Tank Company before joining the US Navy. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. Mr. Bowers was retired from the City of Boston Printing Department, where he worked for 25 years. He was an Honorary Life Member of the International Printing and Graphic Communications Union. Proud to be a veteran, Al was a Life Member of the VFW Post 722 in Jamaica Plain and a Member of the American Legion Post 0070 in Norwood. The beloved husband for 66 years of the late Mary F. (Feeley) Bowers, he was the loving father of Albert K. Bowers Jr., BFD retired and his wife Erin of Needham and Robert D. Bowers and his wife Patricia of Needham Dear grandfather of Karen McCue and her husband Dan of Watertown, Kevin Bowers III FDNY and Shawn Bowers FDNY both of New York City, Teri McDonald and her husband Brian of Norwood, Tina Bowers Smith and her husband Sean of Chandler AZ and Brian Bowers, PFD, of Phoenix, AZ. Great grandfather of Christina, Sydney, Caileigh, Gavin and Cian. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Saturday June 28 at 8:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Norwood at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury.
