Obituary

Therese Hart was a woman whose wealth was in her family. She was born September 18th, 1924, the fifth child of John Aloysius Reardon and Marguerite Higgins Reardon. For the first few years of her life, she lived on Beacon Street in Chestnut Hill, MA in a large house overlooking the reservoir. However, her father died when she was still young and the family moved to an apartment where her mother raised six children to be strong, proud, and self-sufficient. In 1945, she joined the Marines as an aircraft control tower operator in Cherry Point, NC, where she served until 1946. She married William J. Hart at St. Ignatius Church in Chestnut Hill, MA on September 24, 1949 and moved to Glens Falls NY where they lived for 35 years and raised six children. She was a devoted mother, and is remembered for the elaborate outfits and costumes she handmade for her children and grandchildren. As her children grew up, she got a bachelor's degree from Empire State College and then went back to work, first as a real estate agent, then as the head of Family Healthcare Association, an organization that provided in-home health care and finally as a very successful Mary Kay salesperson. She cared about people easily, and everything she did was motivated by a desire to help them become better.

In addition to her husband of 58 years, William J. Hart of Yorktown, NY, she leaves behind three sons and three daughters and their families: Michael Hart of Canton, NY; William J. Hart Jr. and his wife Johnna of Big Horn WY; Maureen Hart and her husband Lawrence Luckom of West Hartford CT; Dr Patricia Hart and her husband Dr. John Finkenstadt of Syracuse NY; Edward H. Hart and his wife Lynn of Pace FL; and Marguerite (Hart) LeGarrec and her husband Jean Dominique, of Pittsburgh, PA. She was the devoted grandmother of Aria, Iara, Ian, Raphael, Daniel, Christopher, Claire, Olivia, Jorlyn, Andrew, and Zoe and great-grandmother of Howard Eli. Loving sister of Marguerite Ruth Castelli formerly of Arlington, and the late Elizabeth R. Rodgers of Briarcliff Manor, NY; Eileen M. Reardon of Brighton, William T. Reardon of Brookline and John A. Reardon of Cohasset. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will gather at the Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home in West Roxbury, MA from 4-7pm on Sunday, June 29th. She will be buried in the family plot in St Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury, MA on Monday, June 30th after a 10am funeral mass at St Ignatius Church in Chestnut Hill.
