Ruby May Bond, 96

Ruby May (Aiken) Bond, of Severna Park a former longtime resident of Mansfield died on Tuesday May 27, 2008 at the Heartlands Assisted Living Center in Severna Park with her son and daughter-in-law at her side. She was the beloved wife of the late W. Roger Bond who passed away on August 10, 1993. Mr. and Mrs. Bond were wed on August 1, 1936.
Born in Foxboro, MA on November 10, 1911 she was a daughter of the late Daniel H. and Elizabeth A. (Reilley) Aiken.
Soon after moving to Mansfield where she lived till the fall of 2006 Ruby grew up and was educated in Mansfield and was a 1929 graduate of Mansfield High School.
Following high school graduation she worked at the former S.W. Cards Co. in Mansfield till her marriage to Roger, at which time she became a dedicated homemaker to her family.
She served as the former President of the Mansfield Visiting Nurse Association. Ruby enjoyed family and friends. She constantly kept in touch with family whether local or in Canada. She loved to cook, especially for family gatherings.
She is survived by her loving son William R. Bond and his wife Ann-Marie of Pasadena, Maryland, her cherished grandchildren Karen M. Lehman of Orefield, PA, Suzanne E. Bond of Scaggsville, Maryland and Timothy W. Bond of Pasadena, Maryland, great grandchildren Christopher, Lexi and Sidney Lehman of Orefield, PA and Emma and Jake Schmidt of Scaggsville, Maryland. She was predeceased by her siblings George Aiken, Gordon “Bob” Aiken and Margaret Crockett, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday July 1st at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers Ruby’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake 445 Defense Highway Annapolis, MD 21401.
