Obituary

Nancy Jane (Leonard) Eskenas, 62, of Plymouth, died on June 21st after a long and brave battle with cancer.

Nancy was born in Whitman, MA and moved to Brockton as a small child where she attended and graduated from Brockton High school in 1964. Nancy had several careers, all of which provided her an outlet for her love of people. She was an airline stewardess for TWA, a real estate agent and the co-owner of Leonard’s Restaurant – The Second Generation, previously owned and operated by her parents for 25 years.

Nancy and her husband, Lenny, moved from their home in Easton where they raised their children to Falmouth, and more recently to PineHills in Plymouth. There she was well-known and loved as a real estate manager and developed some wonderful friendships. Nancy loved playing golf, going to the theater, and traveling with family and friends.

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Attorney Leonard Eskenas, and her children, Chris Baynes, Heather Baynes, Rachelle Eskenas and Jonathan Eskenas and their families, and by her sister, Linda Leonard DeYoung. In addition she is survived by two beautiful grandchildren, Alex and Sydney Baynes, and expecting another, as well as four nephews and two nieces. Preceding her death were her parents, Herbert and Rhoda Leonard, and her brother David Leonard.

Her beautiful smile and caring nature will be deeply missed.

Services to be held at the Plymouth United Methodist Church, 29 Carver Road, Plymouth on Wednesday, June 25th at 10:00 AM followed by a reception/visiting hours in the church’s fellowship hall at 11:30AM. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1115 W. Chestnut Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
