Cecilia A. Rene 95, formerly of 218 Pond St. Woonsocket died June 13th in the Sonogee Rehabilitation & Living Center in Bar Harbor ME. She lived most of her life in Woonsocket moving to Maine in 1998. Mrs. Rene was the wife of the late Lucien Rene. She was born in Fortierville, P.Q. Canada, a daughter of the late Evangeliste and Marie Anne (Marcotte) Laquerre. Mrs Rene was employed as a seamstress for the former Sadwin Brothers, Kornsteins and Social Department Store.
She is survived by a daughter Lena Rene of Bangor, ME, a sister Helene Lacroix of FL, eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Audette Lambert, and Yvonne Brodeur; step mother of the late Jean Rene; sister of the late Edgar, Henri, Reginald, Lionel “Bob” Laquerre, Dorilda Champagne, Jeannette Fortier, Yvette Blanchard, Clemence Lavallee, Claire Bell, and Rita Bergeron.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 am. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in Precious Blood Cemetery in Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Friday 5-7 pm.
