Barbara A. Salamone
...Long Time Tewksbury Resident; 78
TEWKSBURY - Barbara A. (Gunning) Salamone, age 78, died Tuesday, June 24, at the Blaire House of Tewksbury, after a long period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late James J. Salamone Sr. who died in 1997. She was born Jan. 19, 1930, a daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (St. George) Gunning and raised in East Boston.
She moved to Tewksbury in 1965 to raise her family and was a communicant of Saint Williams Church.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law; James and Anita (Maynard) Salamone of PA, Robert and Cheryl (Head) Salamone of Tewksbury, daughters and son-in-law; Margaret (Salamone) Teasley of SC, Patricia (Salamone) and David Selig of VA, a brother and a sister-in-law; Robert and Terry Gunning of CA, two sisters; Rosemary (Gunning) Crosier of MA, Loretta (Gunning) Cole of Wilmington; seven grandchildren Jennifer and Dennis Barnes, Cameron Salamone, Jordan and Leah Selig, George and Rachel Teasley; five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late William Salamone, the grandmother of the late Christopher and James Salamone, and the sister of the late Walter and Larry Gunning.
A Memorial Mass was held Saturday, June 28, in St. Williams Church, Tewksbury. Burial will be private at a later date. Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen, St., Framingham, MA 01701, will be appreciated.
